Normagrup belong to a Committee with the IPLA-CSIC (Institute of Dairy Products of Asturias), the University of Oviedo and the University of Nebrija to carry out the project “Photobiomodulation on the microbiota for cognitive improvement in neurodegeneration (PHOTONEU)”.

Recently, it has been observed that photobiomodulation (PBM) when applied abdominally can change the microbiota, thus raising the possibility of bidirectional regulation of the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Based on this, PHOTONEU proposes that abdominal photobiomodulation can influence the microbiota, opening new possibilities to improve cognitive health. The achievement of PHOTONEU will generate a non-invasive, painless, cost-effective treatment device, and therefore, a very promising therapy for cognitive improvement in neurodegeneration, specifically Alzheimer's disease.

An innovative step towards more effective and accessible treatments for brain well-being!

This advance makes us feel proud of the bond that connects Normagrup with constant research and innovation, not only in the development of our products, but also in actions that can positively contribute to society.
